Splits, Dividends & Corporate Actions

Splits, Dividends & Corporate Actions

Stock splits, dividends, name changes, ticker changes, exchange listings, delistings, and other corporate events.

The Corporate Actions dataset provides structured, machine-readable records of events that affect equity securities — stock splits, stock dividends, cash dividend payments, mergers, acquisitions, spinoffs, ticker changes, delistings, and other corporate events such as company name changes, new exchange listings, and fiscal year-end changes.

For each stock ticker, Zacks maintains a current split factor. In the event of a stock split, the split factor is the ratio of total shares outstanding after the split divided by shares outstanding prior to the split.

To forecast future regular dividend payments, Zacks calculates the Indicated Annual Dividend (IAD). An algorithm is applied to account for recent announcements indicating a change in the amount of dividends to be paid.
